Ingredients
3/4 cup (175 ml) yellow split peas 1 tbsp (15 ml) Sealtest butter
2 medium onions (1.5 cups/375 ml), cut into cubes
5 carrots (1.5 cups/375 ml), sliced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1.5 cups (375 ml) chicken broth
2.5 cups (625 ml) milk

Preparation

Rinse split peas.
|
|

Place in saucepan, cover with water and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and cook, covered, 20 minutes; drain.

In another saucepan, melt butter, add onions, carrots and garlic; sauté until soft, about 3 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
|
|

Add chicken broth and split peas, and cook another 15 minutes.
|
|
7.
|
Stir in milk and reheat.
|
|
8.
|
Place into food processor or blender; purée until smooth.
